Dr. Le Kim Ngoc (was born in 1934, in Vinh Long province) is the discoverer of the rule of flowering and sprouting plants at will (1970). She was the first in the world to introduce the concept of “cell thinning” (TCL), a discovery that revolutionized the field of plant biotechnology. The TCL concept is recognized by world biology researchers, has a strong value, is introduced, cited in hundreds of scientific publications and specialized journals. Since then, the TCL invention of GS Ngoc has been widely used in breeding, purely maternal plants, in grafting technology to create new varieties.
Recognized by the scientific community as a “Master of Botany”, Dr. Le Kim Ngoc is also the author of hundreds of scientific papers published in prestigious research journals around the world. She has many famous publications in Nature and Science. She was awarded the Medal of the Legion by the French Government
Dr. Le Kim Ngoc and her husband Dr. Tran Thanh Van are also well-known for their charity works in Vietnam such as The SOS Children’s Villages in Da Lat, Dong Hoi and Thuy Xuan Children Protection Center (Hue). They are honored by the President of Vietnam for The Overseas Vietnamese having significant contributions to Vietnam in 2008.
