Dr. Duc (David) A. Tran is a university professor, computer scientist, and entrepreneur. He is a tenured Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts in Boston (USA), where he serves as Director of the Network Computing Laboratory and a voting member of the University’s Faculty Council.
His scientific works have been funded by the National Science Foundation (USA) and published in some 80 scholarly collections worldwide. He has been honored with three Best Paper Awards at international computing conferences.
As an entrepreneur, Dr. Tran is on the founding team of several startups. Among them are:
- EZToken an Australian-based blockchain team that launched live the world’s first blockchain-powered rewards program
- Gianty a talent company helping innovative companies grow global teams with Vietnamese tech talent
- Beedu an edtech startup building classroom communities connecting Vietnamese schools, students, and parents.
He is the founder and host of the Lexington Blockchain Meetup in the Boston area. A sought-after expert, Dr. Tran has been invited as a Panelist for the National Science Foundation for seven times and as a Program Committee member for 90+ international computing conferences. He is currently on the editorial boards of three international journals.
He is a contributor to the Michael Dukakis Institute of Leadership and Innovation, a global think tank in Boston chaired by Former Governor Michael Dukakis of Massachusetts, and serves as a Managing Editor for its AI World Society organization.
