Prof Viet Anh Dang is a Professor of Finance and Programme Director for the MSc Accounting and Finance at Alliance Manchester Business School, the University of Manchester. He joined the School after successfully completing a PhD in Financial Economics at Leeds University Business School in 2007. His current research interests are empirical issues in corporate finance, with a special focus on capital structure.
Prof Viet Anh Dang’s PhD thesis was awarded the Best PhD Paper Award at the Financial Management Association (FMA) European Conference in 2007. His recent studies have been nominated various Best Paper Awards at the FMA Annual Meetings (Semi-finalist) and European Conference (Finalist), as well as the European Financial Management Association (EFMA) Conference. Prof Viet Anh Dang’s research was funded by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and has appeared in world-leading and reputable finance journals, such as the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Empirical Finance.
Prof Viet Anh Dang regularly serves as a reviewer for UK research councils, international conferences, and academic journals in business finance, accounting, and economics, including the Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Banking and Finance. He is a member of the American Finance Association (AFA), FMA, Society for Financial Studies (SFS), European Finance Association (EFA), and EFMA. He was a founding member of the Vietnam Finance Association International (VFAI)
