Diep The Hung, France

Professor of Physics, University of Cergy-Pontoise 

Co-founder of University of Cergy-Pontoise in 1991 (now CY Cergy Paris University) 

Chevalier, Officier, and Commandeur Honour in the Order of Academic Palms 

Professor Diep The Hung  was a JSPS fellow at Kobe University (Japan). He moved to University of Paris VII in 1975 and obtained the grade of Doctor of Science in Physics in 1979. He was among the founders of University of Cergy-Pontoise in 1991 (now CY Cergy Paris University). He has created several important structures of this university,  among which Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and Modeling and the Computing Center. In parallel with research and teaching, he has held important roles such as Dean of Faculty of Science, Vice-President of Research,  Vice-President of International Relations,…  Along with publications in physics, Prof. Diep is also author of many poems in Vietnamese and in French. He was decorated as Knight, then Officer and then Commander in the Order of Academic Palms, the decorations given to people with important contributions to the domain of Science and Education.
